Joker Out unhappy with result, thrilled by the experience
Slovenian indie pop band Joker Out have finished 21st at the Eurovision song contest, a result the band, though thrilled by the show and the experience, describes as disappointing.
The band got 78 points, 45 from juries and 33 from the televote, to place just ahead of Albania among the 26 entries in Saturday's final.

The Thessaloniki Concert Hall (tch.gr) is paying tribute to the championed Georgian composer Giya Kancheli (1935-2019), described by Rodion Shchedrin as "an ascetic with the temperament of a maximalist - a restrained Vesuvius." Performing five miniatures from Kancheli's "Songbook for Piano" are Lola Totsiou on piano, Andreas Papanikolaou on violin, David Alexander Bagorad on viola and Dimos Gou

Joker Out are in
Slovenian entrants Joker Out made the cut in Thursday's second semi final of the Eurovision song contest alongside Albania, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland. This will be the first time since 2019 that Slovenia will be in the final.

Marc Ribot | Athens | April 29
New York-based guitarist and vocalist Marc Ribot returns to Athens and, more specifically, to the pioneering St Paul's Sessions (stpaulssessions.gr) concert series, to appear at the Athens Conservatory on April 29. His show will be with his outfit the Jazz Bin, which includes a Hammond B3 organ virtuoso and a guest drummer.

Mediterranean Dream | Athens | April 6
Celtic harp player and vocalist Lina Rodopoulou is appearing in the lovely garden cafe of the Numistmatic Museum (12 Panepistimiou) at 9 p.m. on Thursday. Titled "Mediterranean Dream," her solo show comprises songs from France, Italy, Spain and others parts of Europe.

Children’s Choirs | Thessaloniki | April 5, 6 & 8

Vox Clamantis | Athens | April 3
Multi-award-winning choral ensemble Vox Clamatis is coming from Estonia to the Athens Concert Hall (megaron.gr) and, setting the mood for Easter, will perform a piece by compatriot Arvo Part, based on the St John Passion. The ensemble, whose awards include a Grammy, specializes in Gregorian chants and early music polyphony.
