UN event marks Int’l Day of Zero Waste 

The United Nations has hosted an event to mark the second International Day of Zero Waste, highlighting a project initiated in Türkiye aimed at reducing waste burden, with Turkish first lady Emine Erdoğan calling for tangible steps towards sustainability.

March 30 was declared as International Day of Zero Waste by a United Nations General Assembly resolution in 2022.

Erdoğan accuses 'global alliance' of targeting Türkiye

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has accused a "global alliance" of complicity in oppression in various parts of the world, alleging they also had Türkiye in their sights.

"Whatever step we took in Syria, Libya and Karabakh, we found a global alliance against us," Erdoğan said during a rally speech in northwestern province of Bursa on March 28 ahead of this weekend's elections.

Erdogan to meet Biden in Washington in May, Turkish media report

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to travel to Washington for a meeting with US President Joe Biden on May 9, Turkish media reported on Tuesday. However, there has been no official confirmation yet.

This meeting would mark the first time the two leaders have met at the Oval Office. Their last encounter was at the NATO summit in Vilnius in July 2023.
