Parliament adopted amendments to the Credit Institutions Act at first reading, reported BGNES.
The purpose of the draft law is to improve the regulatory framework for banking supervision by complying with the recommendations of the Financial Sector Assessment Program report and the commitments made by the Bulgarian National Bank in response to the report.
Bulgaria to Try Exiled Tycoon Over Bank Collapse
Bulgarian prosecutors have indicted an organized crime group of 18 people over the failure of the Corporate Commercial Bank, CCB, in 2014, starting with the bank's majority owner, Tsvetan Vassilev.
The indictment was filed with ihe Special Criminal Court in Sofia on Thursday.

International Monetary Fund: 'Bulgaria Needs Further Banking Supervision Strengthening'
