A special committee set up to examine the matter of war reparations that Greece is seeking from Germany is expected to have completed its report by the end of the year, Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis said on Wednesday.

Tributes poured in over the weekend for Alice Yotopoulos-Marangopoulos, the country's first female university rector, a leading criminologist and former president of the International Alliance of Women, who was laid to rest on Saturday in a civil funeral. She was 101.

On the defensive after seeing the coalition's majority reduced again this week, government officials on Wednesday branded an attempted attack on the office of a coalition MP as part of a scheme to destabilize the administration but were silenced when the anarchist group Rouvikonas took responsibility for the incident.
