Ex-minister seeks to clear name in Novartis case

Andreas Lykourentzos, a former health minister who was named in a prosecutor's report as one of 10 politicians who had allegedly received kickbacks from Swiss pharma giant Novartis, has written to Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis asking for the creation of a special committee to examine the charges against him.

The two Greek servicemen who have been held in Edirne since accidentally crossing into Turkish territory while on patrol in northeastern Greece on March 1, said their "morale is high," during a meeting with Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis who visited them in prison.

Voutsis to visit Greek soldiers detained in Turkey

Greece's Parliament Speaker Nikos Voutsis was on Wednesday scheduled to visit the two Greek soldiers that are being detained in Turkey since March after accidentally crossing a borderline between the two countries.

Voutsis, currently in Istanbul for a summit of parliament speakers, was expected to arrive at Edirne prison at 5 p.m.
