Turkey completes 81-km wall along Iranian border
Turkey has completed an 81-kilometer (50-mile) security wall along its eastern border with Iran, the interior minister said on Dec. 4.
Süleyman Soylu shared the news on Twitter along with pictures of the wall, located in the eastern Ağrı province.

Turkey launches new anti-terrorist operation in east
With over 1,000 personnel, Turkey has launched a new anti-terror operation in three eastern provinces, the Interior Ministry announced on March 13.
In a statement, the ministry said Operation Trap-8 Mt. Ararat-Çemce-Madur aims to neutralize all terrorists hiding out in the regions of Mt. Ağrı (Ararat), Cemce, and Madur located in the eastern provinces of Ağrı, Kars, Iğdır.
Unusual Cold Weather in Turkey: Temperatures Dropped to - 40C
Turkey's eastern provinces are struggling with record colds. In some places, temperatures dropped to minus 40 degrees Celsius and snowstorms hindered the search for 13 migrants who disappeared in the Van City area, Sabah newspaper reported.
Eastern Turkey is usually the coldest part of the country in winter, but even for these areas, the reported values are unusually low.
