Flamingos, the heralds of spring, have started to arrive at Lake Tuz to nest in the central provinces of Aksaray, Konya, and Ankara, where they go for their annual breeding season. This year's arrival of the iconic pink birds marks the anticipation of warmer seasons ahead.

In a bid to mitigate the potential devastation of a major earthquake in the Marmara region, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu has revealed plans to shift the industrial focus away from the earthquake-prone area.

The first flamingo chicks of the year have hatched in Salt Lake, the country's second-largest lake and self-proclaimed "flamingo paradise," while teams are patrolling the lake to keep an eye on the birds.

The U.S. television channel FX has produced a TV series for the first time in Türkiye, starring Golden Globe-winning U.S. actress Elisabeth Moss as veteran Turkish actor Haluk Bilginer will also be seen in the series.

The layers of salt in Lake Tuz, Turkey's second-biggest lake, is diminishing as the water mass of the lake is shrinking, an expert warned on June 6.

"Due to drought, the lake faces the threat of shrinking, as the water has ebbed around a kilometer," Hatice Ünal Ercan told Demirören News Agency.

Lake Tuz, Turkey's second-largest, has turned pink, turning into an impressive sight for tourists, Turkish private TV NTV reported, quoted by BTA.

A sculpture of the Aksaray Malakl?s?, a dog breed known as the Anatolian lion, has been erected in the Central Anatolian province of Aksaray. 

The fame of Aksaray Malakl?s? has been on the rise in recent years in Turkey and abroad, prompting the local municipality to initiate new work to promote the dog breed in Turkey and abroad.
