Lake Tuz shrinking due to drought

The layers of salt in Lake Tuz, Turkey's second-biggest lake, is diminishing as the water mass of the lake is shrinking, an expert warned on June 6.

"Due to drought, the lake faces the threat of shrinking, as the water has ebbed around a kilometer," Hatice Ünal Ercan told Demirören News Agency.

'Anatolian lion' receives promotion

A sculpture of the Aksaray Malakl?s?, a dog breed known as the Anatolian lion, has been erected in the Central Anatolian province of Aksaray. 

The fame of Aksaray Malakl?s? has been on the rise in recent years in Turkey and abroad, prompting the local municipality to initiate new work to promote the dog breed in Turkey and abroad.
