After a very tight final that ended 10-10, the Hungarians prevailed 4-3 in the shoot-out to earn their fourth world title.

Water polo team makes the final

Greece's national team face will face Hungary on Saturday in the final of the men's water polo tournament at the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, after beating Serbia 13-7 in the semifinal on Thursday.

Hungary edged out Spain 12-11 later on Thursday. The two finalists are the first to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics, in Paris.

Serbia lose to Greece in water polo world cup semi-finals

FUKUOKA - The Serbia men's national water polo team lost to Greece 13-7 (3-2, 3-0, 3-3, 4-2) in the 2023 FINA Water Polo World Cup semi-finals in Fukuoka on Thursday.

Konstantinos Kakaris and Stylianos Argyropoulos led the scoring for Greece with three goals each.

Nikola Jaksic and Strahinja Pavlovic excelled for Serbia with two goals each.

Ledecky wins US 1,500-meter free title

Katie Ledecky closed out the U.S. swimming championships on a high note on July 1, winning the 1,500m freestyle in an impressive 15min 29.64sec to book a fourth individual event at the World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.

Ledecky, who set the world record of 15:20.48 in the same Indianapolis Natatorium pool in 2018, posted the sixth-fastest time ever and now owns the top 15.
