Italian to become first woman head of CERN physics center
Italian physicist Fabiola Gianotti was chosen on Nov. 4 to head the CERN particle physics research centre that houses the giant LHC âBig Bangâ machine, making her the first woman nominated to lead a top global scientific institution in the field.

London Heathrow Cancels 10% of Flights over Hurricane Gonzalo
London Heathrow airport has cut about 10% of incoming and outgoing flights with the 20 biggest carriers on Tuesday as the tail-end of hurricane Conzalo slammed into Britain.
Heathrow said the cancellations were precautionary and were prompted by the need to increase spacing between aircraft landing and taking off as winds of up to 112 km/h were expected to sweep the runways.

Swiss Air To Fly Sofia-Zurich From Summer 2015
Swiss, the airline of Switzerland will start flights between Zurich and Sofia as of next year's summer, said the company in a statement on its website.
From the start of the 2015 summer schedules, Swiss will be supplementing its traditional hub concept with a new point-to-point system and expanding its Zurich-based European network through the addition of 22 new destinations.
