Doğan Group to hold two international events in US against Islamophobia

Turkey's Doğan Group will hold two international events on Oct. 20 in Washington in a bid to globally fight against the fallacies and prejudices directed toward Islam.

A panel titled "Islamophobia: Overcoming Myths and Engaging in a Better Conversation" will be organized in cooperation with the U.S.-based Atlantic Council think tank and the Smithsonian Institution.

A senior executive of the Doğan Group, the leading independent media group in Turkey, offered his resignation today amid allegations in social media that he repeatedly maintained correspondence with Berat Albayrak, the Minister of Energy and the son-in-law of President Tayyip Erdoğan, and the CEO of the rival Sabah newspaper, Serhat Albayrak, who is also the brother of the Energy Minister.

Mehmet Ali Yalçındağ resigns as Doğan Media coordinator

Doğan Media Group coordinator Mehmet Ali Yalçındağ announced his resignation from the post with a written statement issued on Sept. 30.
Here is Yalçındağ's statement:

"I have held different posts in institutions that are part of the Doğan Group since 1989, assuming high-level responsibility. I have been in charge of the coordination of Doğan media institutions since 2016.
