Western allies meet on Ukraine after fresh arms pledges
Representatives from 50 countries are set to gather in Germany on Jan. 20 to discuss support for the next stage of Ukraine's war against Russia, one day after the United States and European allies announced substantial new arms shipments.

Funeral procession of former king held in Athens amid tight security
The funeral procession of former King of Greece Constantine II will be held at the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens followed by a private burial at the cemetery of the former royal estate of Tatoi, north of the Greek capital Monday. His body will lie at rest in Saint Eleftherios chapel next to the Cathedral ahead of the funeral service.

On Monday, January 16, the funeral procession of the former King Constantine will be held in the Metropolitan Church of Athens, and then his burial will follow in Tatoi, near his ancestors.
Constantine II: The last king of Greece
The last king of Greece, Constantine II, died late Tuesday night, 100 years after the death of his grandfather, Constantine I, who died on January 11, 1923. Constantine was the last king of the dynasty that began with George I, who succeeded Otto in 1863 and remained king of Greece for the next 50 years.

The famed Danish restaurant Noma which has claimed the title of world's top restaurant several times said on Jan. 9 it will shut down to transform itself into "a pioneering test kitchen" dedicated to "food innovation and the development of new flavors."
Greece’s last monarch Constantine dies
Greece's former King Constantine II, whose nine-year reign coincided with one of the most turbulent periods in the country's political history, died on Tuesday aged 82.
Greek public broadcaster ERT said Constantine, a cousin of British monarch King Charles III, died "of a stroke."

Southeastern Bulgaria is at the Bottom in the EU of Young People with Secondary Education
The south-eastern Bulgarian region is among the 23 regions in the EU with the smallest share of young people who have completed secondary education, according to Eurostat data for 2021.
There, less than three-quarters of the 20- to 24-year-old population have a high school diploma.
Bulgaria and Romania Top the Ranking for the Highest Death Rate from Road Accidents
With an average of 92 deaths per million inhabitants, Romania has the highest road death rate in the European Union (EU) in 2021, according to final figures published by the European Commission (EC) on 17 October. Bulgaria is in second place in the ranking with an indicator of 81 deaths per million inhabitants.
