AHEPA Foundation establishes $17.3 mln scholarship fund
The AHEPA Foundation Inc, linked to American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association, the largest Greek-American association worldwide, will inaugurate the John George Tsitsos Scholarship Fund with a 17.3 million dollar donation from an anonymous benefactor.
Savas Tsivicos is new AHEPA Supreme President
Savas Tsivicos is the new Supreme President of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), elected unopposed Thursday at the 101st Annual Supreme Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Formal installation ceremonies were held Friday.
Tsivicos' first act was to open AHEPA's Emergency Relief Fund to collect donations to assist victims of Greece's wildfires.

Elpidophoros Encyclical on AHEPA Day
May 21, 2023, the third Sunday of May, is AHEPA Day which is observed by the Greek Orthodox Church in America.
AHEPA, the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association, was founded in Atlanta in July 1922.

AHEPA condemns George Floyd killing, violence
The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) has condemned racial inequality in the United States following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, at the hands of police in Minneapolis last week.
In a statement, AHEPA supreme president George G. Horiates also condemned violence and destruction amid protests over the killing.

Greek American running for statewide office in Delaware
Greek American Spiros Mantzavinos is running for a statewide office in Delaware and is widely seen as the favorite.
The State Senate seat in Delaware's 7th District for which he is running as a Democrat has been labeled as one of the most flippable in the country. Registered voters for his party outnumber his opponent's by nearly two-to-one.
