'August 10' rally case delayed by Supreme Court for a month due to exception of unconstitutionality

The request of the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) to reopen the investigation into the 'August 10' rally case will not reach the Bucharest Tribunal directly, but will be delayed at least a month at the Supreme Court for the resolution of an appeal for a referral request to the Constitutional Court.

DIICOT requests FBI aid for DNA examination in Luiza Melencu case (Caracal file)

The Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) has requested the aid of the Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI, US) to conduct a genetic examination that would determine the genetic profile (DNA) in the Luiza Melencu case, but also to establish the psychological/behavioural profile of Gheorghe Dinca, the suspect in the Caracal crimes' case.

Bucharest Tribunal rejects change of National Liberal Party statute

The Tribunal of Bucharest rejected on Monday the National Liberal Party's request to change its statute; the modification allowed the election of presidential candidate Klaus Iohannis as party chair.

The court decision is not final; it can be challenged at the Bucharest court of Appeals.
