Bulgaria's GERB, BSP to Seek Consensus on Constitutional Amendments

The talks on garnering parliamentary majority for the amendments to the Bulgarian constitution will continue on Wednesday.

This will happen at a meeting between Bulgarian Prime Minister and leader of the main ruling party (GERB) Boyko Borisov and leader of the largest opposition party (BSP) Mihail Mikov.

Montenegrin Capital Facing New Elections

After almost two months negotiations on a new authority for the city between the two national ruling parties the Party of Democratic Socialists, DPS, and the Social Democratic Party, SDP, collapsed on Wednesday, the capital could face new elections.

SDP leader Ranko Krivokapic, who is also the speaker of parliament, said new elections are "the most realistic option at this point".

Montenegro’s Capital Stuck in Political Limbo

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic said on Sunday that his ruling Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, and the Social Democratic Party, SDP, could sign an agreement on forming an administration in Podgorica by the end of July, ending the deadlock which has left the capital in limbo since the mayor and city management’s mandate expired in mid-June.

Sofia Appellate Court Leaves Dogan Attacker under House Arrest

The Sofia Appellate Court refused to alleviate the remand measure of house arrest of Oktay Enimehmedov, the man who attacked the honorary lifetime Chairman of DPS Ahmed Dogan.

On January 19, 2013, Enimehmedov pointed a gun at Ahmed Dogan while he was delivering his resignation speech at a party conference.
