PKK attack kills soldier in Turkey's east
A lieutenant was killed in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the Genç district of the eastern province of Bingöl on June 24.
Lt. Arif Kalafat and two other soldiers were wounded when a hidden home-made explosive was detonated by PKK militants during a security operation late on June 23.

Chief physician of university hospital in Turkey's Elazığ killed in armed attack
A chief physician of the Fırat University Hospital in the eastern province of Elazığ was killed in an armed attack on May 24, Doğan News Agency has reported.
Professor Muhammed Said Berilgen was assaulted by the owner of a medical firm, identified as Sercan Gök, while he was in his office at 11.45 p.m.

14 PKK militants killed in Turkey's Tunceli
A total of 14 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed in an air-supported operation in the eastern province of Tunceli, the Tunceli Governor's Office said March 25.
