US DFC expresses interest in participating in Great Sea Interconnector project

The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has expressed an interest in participating in the Great Sea Interconnector project linking the electrical grids of Greece, Cyprus and Israel via undersea cables, Greece's Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) has said.

Alexandroupoli-Burgas pipeline idea picking up steam again

A recently set up Greek-Bulgarian working group met in Athens last Friday to discuss reviving the Alexandroupoli-Burgas oil pipeline project.

The meeting was attended by Greek Environment and Energy Ministry Minister Kostas Skrekas and his Bulgarian counterpart Rossen Hristov, who agreed that the pipeline is of great geostrategic importance for both countries.

Greek ministry planning energy futures market

The Greek Environment and Energy Ministry is planning to create a Greek energy futures market, aiming to play a key role in the region of Southeastern Europe.

Minister Yiannis Maniatis (photo) has invited competent authorities to draft an institutional framework within three months that will be put up for public consultation.
