Complaints in Greece about illegal content online rose 18.5% in 2023
Complaints about illegal content on the Internet increased 18.5% in 2023, compared with the previous year, with most of them relating to financial fraud, according to data released on Wednesday by SafeLine.gr, the Greek Safer Internet Center of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas.

With access to pornography just a mouse click away, experts warn that it is shaping antisocial behavior among teens. Relevant surveys in the US show that three quarters of teenagers have seen porn on the internet by the age of 17, with the average age of first viewing being 12.

Study points to online dangers, complacency
Almost half (43 percent) of parents in Greece do not limit their children's internet use, according to the results of a study conducted by the Greek Safer Internet Center in November and December last year.
The survey was carried out on a sample of 14,000 children aged between 10 and 17 from 400 schools in Athens, Thessaloniki, Crete, Patra and Larissa.
