Fire service skeptical of arson claims in egg factory fire

The fire service remains skeptical of the eco-militant group's claims of responsibility for the arson attack on an egg factory in Thessaloniki, as reported by MEGA TV on Thursday.

Based on initial findings, the fire service doubts that the fire was caused by arson. Instead, authorities suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit.

No letup in domestic abuse

Domestic Violence Offices, which handle the majority of incidents, responded to 784 calls to the Domestic Violence Hotline last week, August 19-25. The number of female victims given the Panic Button app during this time was 147.

Olympic security aided by 13 Greek officers, and Brenda

Thirteen members of the Hellenic Police (ELAS) and a K-9 dog assisted the French authorities for the 2024 Olympics this summer.

The police officers' responsibilities included the detection of explosives, forged documents and the fight against illegal immigration.

The team consisted of four women and eight men and one liaison officer at the Center for International Cooperation.

Police arrests nine people on Mykonos amid crime crackdown

Police said they arrested nine people since Friday morning during targeted operations on the island of Mykonos as part of a crackdown on crime, the inspection of businesses and the effort to improve the level of road safety.

Some 310 people, 250 vehicles and 11 catering businesses were checked during the operation, police added.
