Catalonia's High Court Asks Spanish Police to Provide Security in Case of Independence

 Catalonia's High Court has asked for Spanish national police to provide extra security at the court building in case the Catalan parliament goes ahead with a unilateral declaration of independence, the court said on Monday, quoted by Reuters. 

Serbian Court Rehabilitates Chetnik Wartime Commander

The High Court in Valjevo, Serbia, on Friday rehabilitated a former Chetnik commander Nikola Kalabic, annulling the Communist-era verdict from 1946 which declared him a “national enemy”.

The Higher Prosecutor’s Office in Valjevo told Beta news agency that it would “certainly appeal” the court ruling.

Serbian General Denies Montenegro Putsch Charges

A former top general in Serbia's elite Gendarmerie unit, Bratislav Dikic, on Wednesday denied having backed an alleged coup plot in Montenegro during the elections in the republic last October.

Dikic told the court in Podgorica at the pre-trial session that he was a victim of the "fabricated charges" of the Montenegrin Special Prosecution.

Montenegrin Court to Rule on Marovic's Jail Term

The High Court in Podgorica is expected to decide on Wednesday whether Svetozar Marovic may remain in Belgrade for medical treatment or should return to Montenegro to serve his three-year prison sentence.

Marovic, jailed for corruption, has been in Serbia for months. His lawyers say he was admitted to a mental health institution on April 7.
