22 attacks on journalists in Serbia this year

BELGRADE -- There have been 22 attacks on journalists in Serbia this year -12 physical assaults, which indicates a deterioration in media workers' position, said NUNS.

The Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia (NUNS) on Wednesday presented its annual report.

BELGRADE -Sasa Mirkovic, state secretary at the ministry of culture and information, said on Wednesday that he does not agree with the assessment set out by the Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia (NUNS) that journalists' standing has deteriorated in 2014, and noted that the report of that organization shows that there is less fear and distrust.

Along with the request, the association submitted around 2,000 signatures of citizens who support the Proclamation on Media Freedoms, as grounds for a parliamentary debate.

Media bills welcomed, amendments proposed
