A 30 weeks pregnant woman and her 9-year-old daughter were rushed to hospital Tuesday after sustaining serious injuries in a Thessaloniki road accident.

According to reports, the mother, who suffered serious head and lung injuries, lost control of her car which overturned on the provincial road linking Kilkis with Ano Potamia.

A Syrian refugee has been hospitalized after being stabbed in the thigh during an argument at a refugee camp near Thessaloniki, northern Greece.

The refugee was stabbed on Sunday afternoon during an argument with a group of migrants, thought to be of Kurdish origin, at a refugee center in Polykastro.

The situation at the refugee hotspots in Greece is becoming increasingly dire, as violent incidents are cropping up all over the reception centres, while living conditions are dramatic. The latest incident involved the death of a 17-year old girl from Syria at the Hellinikon hotspot, who died at hospital after exhaustion, Tuesday.

A 40-year old Syrian-Kurd migrant is in critical condition after reportedly being hit by a police car at Idomeni refugee camp. According to police sources, the police car did not hit the man but he fell off a scaffolding in front of a patrol vehicle. The 40-year old was immediately rushed to Kilkis hospital and then to the ‘Papageorgiou Hospital’ in Thessaloniki.
