Sledgehammer coup plot case digital data to be reexamined: Court

A new board of experts from Istanbul Technical University will reexamine the digital data in the Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plot case, according to an interim court ruling.

The previous expert reports on digital data in the case were rejected by the Anatolian 4th Heavy Penalty Court in Istanbul, and a new board of experts will reexamine the data.

Turkey’s former top general says coup rumors were 'not serious’

The retrial of the Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plot case has begun, with retired former chief of Turkish General Staff Gen. Hilmi Özkök saying the coup rumors were “not serious” during his testimony on Nov. 3.

Özkök, along with former Land Forces Commander Gen. Aytaç Yalman, attended the hearing to testify at the Anatolian 4th Heavy Penalty Court in Istanbul.

End of duty comes for coup suspects

Turkey’s Chief of General Staff is expected to be Land Forces Commander Gen. Hulusi Akar as the second possible candidate Gen. Servet Yörük retired in the latest Supreme Military Board (YAŞ) meeting.
At the same meeting, the retirement of commanders who will be retried in the Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plot case were approved.
