Cillian Murphy Emerges As Awards Season Favorite With “Oppenheimer”
In his role as physicist Robert Oppenheimer in the film of the same name by Christopher Nolan, Cillian Murphy has won several prestigious awards. Among them is the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama, the Acting Achievement prize at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in January, accolades from New York and Boston critics, as well as a BAFTA received at the end of last week.

Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon" has been named the best film of the year by the New York Film Critics Circle.

In line with the global trend, Mattel's comedy about toys - "Barbie" with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles, turned out to be the most watched film in Bulgaria as well, according to aggregated data from movie theaters. 38,107 viewers have seen the film, which is mostly pink in color, and the revenue from their tickets for the first weekend in the country is 452,186 leva.

After a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and continued fears over nuclear risks and climate change, the symbolic Doomsday Clock remains stuck at the same time as last year.
"The hands of the Doomsday Clock remain at 100 seconds to midnight, as close to midnight as ever," Rachel Bronson, president of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (BAS), said on Wednesday (27 January).
