AstraZeneca Will Test Options to Combine Its Oxford Vaccine with the Russian Sputnik

UK and Russian scientists are teaming up to trial a combination of the Oxford-AstraZeneca and Sputnik V vaccines to see if protection against Covid-19 can be improved.

Mixing two similar vaccines could lead to a better immune response in people.

The trials, to be held in Russia, will involve over-18s, although it's not clear how many people will be involved.

The United Kingdom has approved the use of Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines

According to the BBC, the British regulator MHRA announced that the vaccine, which according to the latest data has an efficiency of 95% in protection against COVID-19, is safe for distribution.
The media states that immunization of priority groups of people could start in a few days.
