Border police officers and customs officers have discovered nearly 2,000 boxes of smuggled cigarettes in a ship's cabin, the Ministry of Interior reported, cited by BNT.
Turkish Citizens were Arrested for Attacking Customs Officials
Turkish citizens have attacked Bulgarian border police officers at checkpoint at Kapitan Andreevo, the Ministry of Interior announced. On Wednesday evening, a minibus with Turkish citizens, including children, passed the passport control of entering Bulgaria. Some of the travelers were German citizens, while others were permanent residents in Germany.
The Interior Ministry has Appointed 934 New Policemen this Year
934 are the new police officers appointed up until 8 August, Interior Minister Valentin Radev announced after the meeting of the Council of Ministers. He is pleased that the Cabinet has fulfilled its commitment to hire 1,000 people by the end of 2017, news.bg reported. New police officers will be allocated to small settlements.

Illegal Import of 20 Tonnes of Pork was Stopped
Illegal imports of over 20 tons of pork were interrupted by officials of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, Police and the Revenue Agency, the Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday.
The action was possible after a signal was given. According to preliminary data, smuggled goods entered August 6th through Ruse border checkpoint.
