Measures announced to tackle sports violence
Deputy Sports Minister Giannis Vroutsis introduced new measures to combat fan violence on Wednesday.
Proposals include restricting each team to a single fan club, mandatory electronic security systems in Super League and Basket League stadiums, and fines ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 euros for "low-level fan violence."

Syria releases opposition figures held on way to Riyadh meeting: Party
Syrian authorities have released two prominent members of the domestic opposition who were arrested on Dec. 30 as they travelled to Riyadh to meet other regime opponents, their party said.
Syria dissidents meet to forge new opposition alliance
Syrian opposition representatives met in Cairo on June 8 in a bid to forge a new, broader alliance against President Bashar Al-Assad's regime and agree on a roadmap for ending the conflict.
The new grouping would offer an alternative to the National Coalition, the exiled opposition bloc that is widely recognized and supported by Arab and Western governments, organizers said.
