Arrivals in Romania's tourist accommodation establishments at 5 ml-plus in H1, down 4.4 pct YoY

Arrivals in Romania's tourist accommodation establishments in H1 this year totaled 5.035 million, by 4.4 pct lower YoY, shows data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). However, the number of tourist arrivals this June was 8.3 pct higher compared to the same month of the year before.

Fruit exports down 18.1 pct January through April 2019

Romania exported January through April of 2019 eatable fruit worth EUR 11.1 million, down by 18.1 pct as compared to last year's similar period, the data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) read. The imports saw EUR 221.1 million (minus 12.8 pct), thus resulting into a EUR 210 million deficit.

Romania's exports to EU states up 4.9pct, Jan.-Apr. 2019; imports up 7.5pct (INS)

Romania's exports to the other 27 member states of the European Union increased by 4.9 percent between January and April 2019 compared to the similar period of last year, whereas the imports of the EU states increased by 7.5 percent, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS). The exports to the EU states have a total share of 77.6 percent.

INS: Turnover of market services rendered mainly to enterprises, up 14.8pct in first five months

The turnover of market services rendered mainly to enterprises increased in the first five months of this year, compared to the same period in 2018, both as gross series and as series adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality by 14.8 percent and 15.5 percent respectively, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), published on Wednesday.

Imports of crude oil, down 0.6pct in first five months of 2019; production, down 0.5pct

Romania imported in the first five months of 2019 a quantity of 3.44 tonnes of oil equivalent (toe) of crude oil, by 0.6pct (21.700 toe) lower than that of the similar period in 2018, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Domestic crude oil production was 1.38 million toe, 0.5pct (7.600 toe) below the one from January to May 2018.

Official statistics: Volume of Jan - May construction works up 23.1 pct YoY

The volume of construction works over January - May this year was 23.1 pct up from same period last year expressed as raw series, and 14.5 pct higher YoY as workday and seasonally adjusted series, according to data provided on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics.

Romania's primary energy supply, up 1pct, Jan.-May, 2019; electricity supply, down 4.5pct

Romania's primary energy supply increased by 1.0pct, while electricity supply declined 4.5pct, both in the first five months of 2019, year-over-year, according to data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). The main primary energy supply January 1 - May 31, 2019 totalled 14.406 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), up 147,100 toe from the same period of 2018.
