Bulgaria: The President appointed a New Foreign Minister

Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolay Milkov was released by decree of President Rumen Radev. It was published today in the State Gazette.

With the same decree, Ivan Iliev Kondov, who until now held the position of permanent secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was appointed to the position of acting foreign minister.

Chief of Defence Staff atttends NATO Military Committee, in Greece, discusses terrorism, hybrid warfare

The Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, attended the Meeting of the Chiefs of Defence of the NATO Military Committee, which took place in Athens, Greece, from Friday to Sunday. According to the Ministry of National Defence, the 30 NATO Chiefs of Defence who participated in the meeting focused on topics related to allied operations, missions and activities.

At an extraordinary joint meeting of NATO ministers of foreign affairs and defence on Wednesday, head of the Romanian diplomacy Bogdan Aurescu, expressed Romania's concern over the deployment of Russian troops and equipment in Crimea, at the eastern border of Ukraine and in the Black Sea in general.

NATO Ambassadors with an Extraordinary Meeting over the Middle East Crisis

NATO ambassadors will hold an extraordinary meeting at the headquarters in Brussels, according to BGNES. The news comes after an escalation of tensions in the Middle East over the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.

""The North Atlantic Council will address the situation in the region," a NATO official said.

NATO to convene with Middle East agenda

NATO ambassadors will meet at their Brussels headquarters on Jan. 6 as Middle East tensions mount after U.S. forces killed a top Iranian general. 

"The North Atlantic Council will address the situation in the region," a NATO official said.     

"The secretary general decided to convene the meeting of NATO ambassadors following consultations with allies."
