Athens sports centers to reopen from Wednesday

The City of Athens is reopening all sports centers to the public, beginning on Wednesday, the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth (OPANDA) announced on Tuesday.
OPANDA said all necessary measures have been taken to comply with the hygiene rules in accordance with the state's health guidelines concerning safe exercise in organized sports venues.

Antetokounmpo family donates 20,000 masks to Athens municipality, sports group

The family of Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo donated 20,000 surgical masks which will be equally divided between the municipality of Zografou in central Athens and the city's Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth (OPANDA) to help employees protect themselves against the new coronavirus.

Greece celebrates Earth Day with bike races on Sun.

The City of Athens and Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth are celebrating World Earth Day (April 22) with the 22nd Bicycle Run of Athens on Sunday, April 26. The race is set to start at 11 a.m. at Zappeion Hall, near the National Gardens. There are 2.7 km and 8.5 km races being organized with both starting and ending at Zappeion.
