Brussels – National Assembly Speaker Igor Zorčič said Slovenia would seek to accelerate the enlargement process during its EU presidency as he took part in the summit between the European Parliament and parliamentary speakers from the Western Balkans in Brussels on Monday, which noted the role of parliaments in the enlargement process.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry on April 27rejected the Portuguese Parliament's statement on the events of 1915.

Turkey on March 30 condemned a statement of the Portuguese parliament as "unfounded allegations that are far from reality" against the Turkish military-led Operation Olive Branch in northwestern Syria.         

LISBON - On the second day of a state visit to Portugal, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met on Thursday with Portuguese Parliament Speaker Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues, who backed Serbia's European integration process.

Nikolic said the two nations had much in common and that there was significant room for cooperation, primarily in the economy.

BELGRADE - Portugal supports Serbia's EU integration, Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Portuguese parliament Paulo Mota Pinto said Tuesday.

The Portuguese delegation led by Pinto met in Belgrade today with members of the Serbian parliament's European integration and foreign affairs committees.
