Main opposition CHP files complaint over theologian's statements 'justifying violence' against women in Ramadan
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) vice chair and İzmir deputy Zeynep Altıok on June 7 filed a complaint against a TV show with the Supreme Board of Radio and Television (RTÜK) after a guest speaker said "women who are not fasting due to menstruation and eat on the street during Ramadan can get beaten," state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Five killed, at least 36 injured in suicide attack in central Istanbul
Five people were killed and at least 36 others were injured in a suicide bomb attack on March 19 in central Istanbul, on the busy ?stiklal Avenue in Taksim.
The attack happened on Balo Street in front of the local governor's office of Beyo?lu, and a through investigation has been launched into the attack, Istanbul Gov. Vasip ?ahin told reporters.
Turkey Temporarily Bans Images of Ankara Bomb Blasts
Turkey has ordered a temporary ban on showing images of Saturday's bomb blasts in Ankara and the aftermath of the attack for security reasons, Anadolu Agency has reported.
"Such bans are usually imposed to prevent the spread of what the government refers to as terrorist propaganda," the Turkish news agency explained.

Former prosecutors of Deniz Feneri embezzlement case criticize court's rule
Two former prosecutors of the German-linked Deniz Feneri (Lighthouse) charity embezzlement case, who were removed from the case, criticized an Istanbul court?s decision on the case?s suspects.
The Istanbul court made the decision May 13 to either acquit the suspects involved in the case or drop the case entirely due to a lapse of time.
