House to vote on university asylum law
Greek Parliament will vote Thursday on a provision introduced by the government which will scrap the so-called university asylum and allow law enforcement and other authorities to enter campuses to tackle crime.

Community service suspended as municipalities lack framework to oversee it
The government has suspended the implementation of the measure of community service as alternative punishment, until municipalities develop the structures and framework to allow for it, sources from the Justice Ministry said Wednesday.
The suspension of the measure was included in a draft bill on the reorganization of the public administration, voted on by lawmakers Tuesday.
Dispute over university asylum
A banner set up by staff at Athens University protests legislation slated to be tabled in Parliament Friday scrapping the university asylum law. New provisions on university asylum published by Education Ministry
Law enforcement and other authorities will be able to enter university grounds to respond to complaints from members of the academic community or other citizens under a new provision abolishing the so-called university asylum law.
Varoufakis lashes out at SYRIZA 'comrades'

Two key members of radical anarchist group released from prison
Two high-ranking members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire urban guerrilla group have been released from prison after serving one-third of 20-year sentences by invoking a law introduced under the previous SYRIZA administration.

Top judge appointments null, void
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos has refused to sign two presidential decrees for the appointment of a new prosecutor and president of the Supreme Court that had been selected by the previous SYRIZA administration.
The decrees, which were returned to the newly elected New Democracy government unsigned, are considered null and void, and not binding, as a result.
