Faruk Fatih Özer, the founder of the now-defunct cryptocurrency platform Thodex, has been sentenced to seven months and 15 days in prison for failing to submit requested documents to the Tax Inspection Board.

Özer's case was heard at the Anatolian 17th Criminal Court of First Instance, with the defendant connected via the audio and video information system (SEGBİS).

The number of the suspects detained as part of a major operation against fraud in the iron and steel sector, named "Iron Fist," has increased to 301 from 250.

Around 250 suspects, including three alleged crime organization leaders, were detained in police raids in 29 out of all Türkiye's 81 provinces on June 28 as part of a major operation against fraud in the iron and steel sector.

Turkey banned social media sites that have failed to hire local representatives from advertising on Jan. 19, according to the Official Gazette. 

Last October, a new social media law came into effect in the country which obligates social media sites that are accessed over a million times per day in Turkey to hire a local representative.

The Turkish Constitutional Court has approved Turkish ??bank?s appeal on a tax conflict with the tax authority and decided the amount of tax, penalties and default interest which was paid by the bank should be paid back to it as compensation with its legal interest.
