University of Ljubljana

In the field of internationalization within the University of Ljubljana, the Faculty of Economics has held a pioneering role. It is one of the strongest pillars in the internationalization of Slovenian higher education. However, there have been complaints about disregarding the Slovenian language due to the delivery and teaching in English.

The idea of EARL stems from collaboration between two members of the University of Ljubljana: the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Arts, particularly its Department of Asian Studies. The project has been in the works for at least two years now, since the signing of an agreement by the two collaborators.

Currently, Slovenia invests around 2% of its GDP in scientific research. How much of its budget does the University of Ljubljana and FELU apply to research, and how much money is allocated to Slovenia by the EU?

To put things in perspective: 4000 robots are expected to be produced in the initial stage before scaling up to 6000, when the plant will reach full capacity; between 170 and 200 new jobs are going to be created; and 5.8 million euros will be coming from the state budget.
