Kosovan Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, who is well known for making inflammatory statements regarding Serbian territory, has again instigated tension by offering Kosovan citizenship to ethnic Albanian residents of southern Serbia.

The head of the Serbian "Dveri" parliamentary group, Bashko Obradovic, described as a "diplomatic scandal" the participation of President Aleksandar Vucic at the meeting in Varna two days ago, reports Bgnes.

BELGRADE - Serbia will get eight Mikoyan MiG-29 twin-engine fighters and two Buk missile systems as a gift from Belarus, Serbian Defense Minister Zoran Djordevic told the Politika Serbian daily newspaper.

The deliveries, provided on a no-pay basis under the condition that Serbia cover repair and modernization expenses, are expected to be completed in 2018, Djordevic said.

BELGRADE - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov begins a two-day visit to Belgrade on Monday. He is expected to discuss collaboration between Russia and Serbia and the situation in the Balkans with Serbian leaders and to take part in a session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC).

Jadranka Joksimovic, Serbia's Minister for European Integration, said the government had started interviewing potential members of the Serbian negotiating team with the EU.

"We have a lot of names. Soon we will have suggestions for members," Joksimovic told the daily newspaper Danas on May 21.
