Pro Romania will not vote for the investiture of the National Liberal Party (PNL) government, announced, on Wednesday, the chair of the party, Victor Ponta. "It was no surprise that we, those with Pro Romania, will not vote for the investiture of the PNL Government. I don't believe it was a surprise for Mr. Orban, simply because we are a new party that is growing.

The chairman of the Freedom, Unity and Solidarity Party (PLUS), Dacian Ciolos, is happy that the partners in the Save Romania Union (USR) have found the way to support the investiture of the government, mentioning that the formation he leads supports all the objectives mentioned in the draft agreement discussed with the Prime Minister-designate.

Prime Minister-designate Ludovic Orban stated on Monday that he is to carry out the second round of consultations with the formations that endorsed the censure motion, adding he sees "absolutely no reason" for any of these parties not to also endorse the investiture of the Government. President Klaus Iohannis maintained, in Brussels, on the occasion of the meeting of the European Council, the necessity of adopting without delay the decision to open accession negotiations with Albania and the Republic of North Macedonia, mentioning that a positive decision in this sense would have a strategic significance for the region.

President Klaus Iohannis said on Friday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace that a caretaker government is needed, adding that he prefers a political one, and most likely it would be of or around the National Liberal Party (PNL).      He announced that he would nominate a prime minister on Tuesday, at the latest.
