Zairi to head Union of Greek Prosecutors
Supreme Court deputy prosecutor Anna Zairi has been selected president of the Union of Greek Prosecutors, it was announced Wednesday.
Zairi will be replacing Eleftherios Michailidis who is stepping down after reaching retirement age.

Parliament summons Anti-Money Laundering chief regarding Petsitis
Deputy Parliament Speaker Tasia Christodoulopoulou (SYRIZA) has announced that she consents to summoning Anti-Money Laundering Authority Chief Anna Zairi and the head of the Authority's investigation of the DEPA-ELFE (Hellenic Fertilizers and Chemicals) affair, who resigned in the middle of the probe, to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Transparency.
Greek opposition calls for explanations into Petsitis affair
Greece's conservative opposition Monday requested that the head of the country's anti-money laundering authority, Anna Zairi, appear before the Parliament's Institutions and Transparency Committee to respond to questions about the alleged scandal involving government aide Manolis Petsitis, as well as the reported dismissal of a senior official investigating the case.
Probe to look into assets of suspects in DEPA-ELFE affair
Greece's anti-money laundering authority has ordered a probe into the assets and bank accounts - both local and foreign - of all parties implicated in a scandal involving the Public Gas Corporation (DEPA) and Greek Fertilizers and Chemicals (ELFE), the latter of which is owned by disgraced businessman Lavrentis Lavrentiadis.
Anti-money laundering authorities working on NGO register
All nongovernmental organizations active in Greece will be recorded on a new database being created by anti-money laundering authorities.
Spearheaded by Supreme Court deputy prosecutor Anna Zairi, the initiative is aimed at creating a national register that will make it easier for authorities to supervise all aspects of the operation of NGOs, particularly with regard to funding.
Greek Justice Ministry plans new police branch
The Justice Ministry has announced its intention to proceed with plans to create a judiciary police branch.
A six-member committee, led by deputy Supreme Court prosecutor Anna Zairi, has been formed to draft the necessary legislation.
The panel has been instructed to complete its work by April 30.
