The speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli, accompanied by a delegation of political parties' representatives, is visiting the Austrian capital Vienna on Thursday to lobby for an agreement with the EU on visa liberalisation.

Ksenija Bozovic, President of the local assembly in North Mitrovica, has accused Kosovo's Environment Minister, Dardan Gashi, of further raising tensions in the already tense north after Gashi on Tuesday threatened to demolish all newly erected monuments by both Kosovo Serbs and Albanians in Mitrovica.

While parts of northern Europe endure their wettest winter since records began,  authorities in the Kosovo capital, Pristina, say they must continue curbing the water supply following a winter drought.

Gjelosh Vataj, from the Regional Water Company, said the local Batllava lake reservoir had lost a couple more centimetres in only 24 hours.
