HDP says ready to join new charter work, urges 'road cleaning' first

A co-leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has declared his party's willingness to take part in a parliamentary panel to draft a new constitution, but underlined that some measures should first be taken to enable thee party to freely argue its opinions, particularly on autonomy.

The co-chairs of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Selahattin Demirta? and Figen Yüksekda?, have filed declarations of their property to the Turkish parliament.

The move came a day after Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu made the same move, while also declaring the properties of his spouse and his son.

HDP says co-leader escaped an assassination attempt

The co-chair of Turkey's Kurdish-issues-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Selahattin Demirta?, was unharmed after his car was hit by a bullet on Nov. 22 in an apparent assassination attempt, party executives said. Police officials, however, have said the damage on Demirta?'s car was not caused by a gunshot.
