Deputy IntMin: Migrant Flow Through Bulgaria Registers 20 % Drop in Q1

According to statistics of the interior ministry, the migrant flow through Bulgaria has decreased by 20 % in the first three months of this year.

This was stated by Deputy Interior Minister Filip Gunev in an interview for the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) on Monday.

Blockade at Bulgarian-Greek Border Checkpoint Temporary Lifted

The blockade at the Kulata checkpoint located on the Bulgarian-Greek border was temporary lifted on Tuesday evening to allow for the passage of the vehicles that have piled up on both sides of the border over the past days.

The queue of trucks on the Bulgarian side of the border has cleared, with passage allowed for all types of vehicles.

Bulgaria Is Successfully Guarding EU's External Border - Cameron

According to British Prime Minister David Cameron, Bulgaria should serve as an example of the successful guarding of the EU's external borders.

Cameron said this during the second day of his visit to Bulgaria, which started on Thursday with a meeting of his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borisov and Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev in Sofia.

Bulgaria's Anti-Corruption Council to Present Sectoral Anti-Corruption Plans by end-October

Sectoral anti-corruption plans in the spheres of healthcare, energy, agriculture, transport, tax administration and customs authorities, are to be ready by end-October, according to a decision of the National Council for Anti-Corruption Practices announced on Wednesday.

Wednesday's meeting of the Council was closed.

Bulgaria's PM Borisov Appoints More Deputy Ministers

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov appointed a total of fifteen ministers on Tuesday, the government's press office says.

Names have been proposed by ministers themselves, with Borisov having only the final say, under the coalition agreement he struck as leader of conservative GERB with the Reformist Bloc (RB) last week.
