European Union lawmakers lifted the EU parliamentary immunity of French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen on March 2 for tweeting pictures of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) violence.

The European Parliament has revoked French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen’s immunity for tweeting pictures of violence by Isis.
Ms Le Pen  – a member of the EU Parliament – is under investigation in France for posting three images of executions by Isis in 2015, including graphic images of the death of American journalist James Foley.

It is one thing not to believe your eyes. It is another thing to ignore it, deny it and live in constant delusion. A majority of Turkey is in the second group. For them, the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) is God's gift to earth and to all Muslims, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan can do no wrong. Sadly, this delusional insistence is becoming an existential danger.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) confirmed on Jan. 19 the death of British extremist "Jihadi John", saying he was killed in a drone strike in their Syrian stronghold of Raqqa in November.

The ISIS terrorist dubbed by the media as “Jihadi John” is believed to be dead following a United States air strike on Thursday. Mohammed Emwazi, known as Jihadi John, was thought to be killed as he left a building in Raqqa, Syria, in what U.S. officials call a “flawless” and “clean hit”.

The reported execution of Croatian worker Tomislav Salopek on Wednesday adds to the grim tally of Western hostages that ISIS has subjected to the barbaric medieval practice of beheading. 

Turkey has put a travel ban to Turkey on 15,000 suspected foreign fighters heading to Syria and Iraq, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç said on July 15, as Ankara ramps up measures to counter the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) threat. 

The Islamic State released a video on Sunday that showed the beheadings of 21 Egyptian Christians in Libya. Hours after the release, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned that his country would respond to the deaths.

The five-minute video showing the deaths has been confirmed as authentic. It appeared on the Twitter feed of a pro-Islamic State website.

The gruesome murders of foreign journalists by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) contributed to 2014 being a particularly deadly year for international correspondents, an annual review by the Committee to Protect Journalists reported Dec. 23.
