Development Ministry imposes €243,000 fines on counterfeit products in Thessaloniki
The Development Ministry imposed fines totaling 243,000 euros on six businesses in the wider area of the northern port city of Thessaloniki for counterfeit products.
During inspections conducted by the Market Control Interagency Unit (DI.M.E.A.), 34,626 counterfeit items were seized and destroyed.
Average 17% reduction in prices for menstrual products implemented
A 17% average decrease in starting prices for 100 menstrual products has been recorded as of Wednesday.
These products are added to the categories that, as announced by Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas, have been part of the intervention since March 1, limiting the total discounts of suppliers in supermarkets by 30% and transferring the corresponding benefit to the consumer.
Food prices over Lent expected to remain steady
The initial feedback regarding the "Lenten Basket" initiative is encouraging, as per reports from Ministry of Development officials.
Prices for the most essential items that typically feature on the Lenten menu are either lower or comparable to last year's figures.
