Bulgarian banks have injected approximately 3.7 billion in additional credit resources into the housing market over the past year alone, with a staggering total of over 8 billion in the last three years, according to Lachezar Bogdanov, chief economist at the Institute for Market Economy, speaking on Nova TV.

Investments from the USA and Canada in Bulgaria surpass the country's official balance of payments report findings, as per a recent Institute for Market Economy (IME) study spanning five years.

"There are formal entry criteria for each country to enter the Eurozone, it is only a matter of time before Bulgaria fulfills them.

There are low deficits and once the energy crisis is over, there will be low deficits again.

The benchmark for inflation remains, but it will moderate anyway.

The new data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on several main economic indicators are extremely positive. From them, it can be concluded that the Bulgarian economy has already overcome the crisis related to the coronavirus and is entering a period of economic growth.

How long the restrictions will last is of key importance, he said

The low fuel prices would last for at least an year, said former economy minister Traycho Traykov for Nova TV.

"It is a simple arithmetic - the crude oil accounts for 45% of the end fuel price," he said. "This explains why the actual prices of petrol and diesel decreases by only 16-17%."
