Chinese scientist who explored COVID-19 assassinated
According to the university - he was on the verge of "very significant breakthroughs" about coronavirus.
He was found inside his home Saturday with gunshot wounds to the head, neck, torso and extremities, police said.
Investigators believe an unidentified man was found in his car, who shot and killed Liu at his home, then returned to the car where he committed suicide.
US, China sign initial 'phase one' trade deal
The U.S. and China signed a "phase one" trade deal on Jan. 15 that marks a major milestone in the more than two-year trade war between the world's top two economies.
The agreement was signed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He during a White House ceremony attended by droves of government officials and business leaders.

A mother has given birth to one of the heaviest babies in China.
The newborn is double the average weight in the world’s most populous country.
Coming in at 6.7 kilos the baby was dubbed ‘Kang Kang’, which means healthy in Chinese, by his father.
Although the family have not been named, their surname was given as Wang according to local media.
