Romanian Politicians Accuse Ambassadors of Interference

The Dutch embassy in Romania has stressed its support for the fight against corruption in the country, a day after two ruling coalition politicians accused one of its former ambassadors of lobbying for the appointment of Laura Codruta Kovesi as chief prosecutor of the powerful National Anticorruption Directorate in 2012.

The new US ambassador to Romania, Hans Klemm, arrived in Bucharest on Sunday, raising hopes that he will bolster Western efforts to help Romania improve its adherence to the rule of law.

"My aim is to bolster our bilateral security partnership and support Romania's efforts to reform its governance and adhere to the rule of law," he said.

White House is currently in search for best candidate to fill the position of Ambassador to Romania

The White House is currently vetting candidates for the best pick to fill the position of United States of America Ambassador in Bucharest, the U.S. Embassy said on Friday asked by AGERPRES.
