Citizens' Protection Minister Olga Gerovassili said she will not seek disciplinary action against Greek Police ELAS chief Aristeidis Andrikopoulos over his presence at ruling SYRIZA's final campaign rally, led by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, in central Athens last week.

A vandalism spree by self-styled anarchists in central Athens on Thursday night is believed to have caused some 70,000 euros in damages, the Athens Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EBEA) has said. 

According to EBEA representatives that inspected the damage, most of the stores targeted were clothing, shoe and accessory retailers, as well as two bank branches and a gallery. 

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and members of his cabinet are in Belgrade on Friday for the second Greek-Serbian High-Level Cooperation Council and the sixth High Council of Cooperation between Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Serbia.

The anarchist group Rouvikonas on Wednesday went ahead with a party 'inaugurating' a room at Athens University's School of Philosophy that it has been occupying for several weeks despite a decision by academic authorities to close the institution to avert the event, after breaking into the faculty through a side door.

Greece's government presented a three-year plan to overhaul the country's public sector on Wednesday, the latest attempt to fix a problem that helped plunge the country into its worst crisis in decades seven years ago.

According to official data, the number of revocable public servants employed at state, local and ministerial levels has substantially increased. From December 20165 till October 2016 a total of 198 new revocable employees were added in the wider public sector bringing the total to 2,099.

Greece's Union of Judges and Prosecutors on Thursday issued a terse statement slamming comments made the previous night by government spokeswoman Olga Gerovassili in response to a ruling by the country's highest administrative court deeming a recent TV license auction unconstitutional.

Former socialist leader Evangelos Venizelos on Thursday accused the leftist-led government of choosing a path that "leads to an open institutional crisis" with its reactions to a ruling on Wednesday by the Council of State deeming a TV license auction held in September unconstitutional.

Government spokeswoman Olga Gerovassili said in the wake of a Council of State verdict deeming a recent TV license auction unconstitutional, that "nothing will stand in the way of the government's determination to bring some order to the radio and television landscape."
