Following the success of its tribute to French composer Olivier Messiaen last March, the Goethe Institute has teamed up with the Athens Conservatory for a new tribute, this time to Germany's Bernd Alois Zimmermann (1918-70). Running from November 13 to 16 at the Conservatory premises, the series of events comprises concerts, lectures, film screenings and discussions.

Pianists Stefanos Nasos and Christos Sakellaridis perform Olivier Messiaen's "20 Contemplations on the Infant Jesus," composed in 1944 for the French composer's second wife. The show at the Athens Concert Hall on Tuesday, April 3, starts at 8.30 p.m. and tickets cost 10 and 15 euros.

Norwegian pianist Hakon Austbo, in recital at Romanian Athenaeum, on May 18

Serbian composer's sonata becomes exam piece in France
BELGRADE - The Musical Confederation of France has chosen a sonata for bassoon and piano by Serbian composer Ivan Jevtic as a exam piece for students of third degree.
Jevtic has told Tanjug said that the final year students will be performing his sonata for bassoon and piano as an exam piece in 2015.
Jevtic's sonata has been published by Le chant du monde.
