Rembrandt's hometown displays earliest works
Rembrandt's earliest works, painted when the Dutch master was only 18 years old, will soon be on display together for the first time in his hometown of Leiden.
Leiden's De Lakenhal museum, thought to be only a stone's throw from where Rembrandt's studio would have been, presented the collection of four paintings to media on Jan. 18.

Rembrandt’s prints on show at National Gallery
Original prints by the celebrated Dutch painter Rembrandt have been put on display at the National Gallery in Ljubljana, alongside works by artists he inspired. Mounted in cooperation with the Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam, the exhibition runs until 30 July.

Film director Nikos Panayotopoulos dies
Greek film director Nikos Panayotopoulos died on Monday at the age of 74 of heart attack.
Panayotopoulos was born on the island of Lesvos in 1941 and studied cinema in Athens and Paris where he lived from 1960 to 1973.
He was awarded in international film festivals and some of his well-known films include “A Night to Remember,” “Delivery” and “Athens-Istanbul.”

Bucharest Premieres Public Art Pavilion
Designed to feature a wide range of art from heritage art to contemporary art, the public art pavilion will display the artworks of several Romanian and foreign artists including Brancusi, Klimt, Rembrandt, Picasso and Chagall.
In the galleries area, Romanian art valued at almost 1.5 million euro will be on display.
