A 5.3 magnitude earthquake has rattled the southern province of Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the deadly Feb. 6 earthquakes, the tremor was also felt and caused panic in the neighboring provinces that have already experienced severe destruction last month.

Turkey's International Golden Boll Film Festival will be held in the southern Adana province on Sept. 13-19, organizers said on Aug. 24.

Zeydan Karalar, the mayor of Adana, who will organize the festival, said in a statement that one of Turkey's most prestigious cinematic events, the 28th edition of the festival will be held with COVID-19 measures in place.

The key players in the Turkish music industry, which faced a catastrophic blow by the pandemic in the past one and a half years, reacted against the latest decision of keeping musical shows, concerts and recitals out of the gradual normalization plan that started on June 1.

A Turkish army officer has been acquitted of charges of using military material, which he used to build a shelter for a stray dog, for his own personal benefit after the prosecutor in the case was changed.
