Dobrovo – Agriculture Minister Jože Podgoršek held talks on Friday with his Italian counterpart Stefano Patuanelli. They discussed plans for the joint promotion of Slovenian and Italian wines from the border-spanning region, especially the Rebula white wine, known in Italy as Ribolla.

Ljubljana – EU agriculture ministers debated Monday and Tuesday the preparation of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) strategic plans. Slovenia welcomed the EU Commission’s recommendations but warned that countries may not be restricted in the selection of measures, Minister Jože Podgoršek said.

 Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio, Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese, and Health Ministers Roberto Speranza retained their mandates in the new government formed by Mario Draghi.

On Thursday, Cyprus, Greece and Israel will sign, in Athens, an Intergovernmental Agreement on building the EastMed natural gas pipeline, and Italy's Minister for Economic Development Stefano Patuanelli, whose portfolio includes Energy, has sent a letter of support for the project to his Greek counterpart, Environment and Energy Minister Kostis Hatzidakis.
